Link’s 6th Graders “Slam Dunk the Junk!”

October 23, 2023 By Sharon Machrone

Link’s 6th graders cleaned up Lincoln Park last week. This community service project, called “Slam Dunk the Junk,” was held in partnership with Newark Department of Pubic Works. Students filled many bags with debris and leaves. We are proud of our youngsters who took on this project with eagerness and excitement…another example of Linkers “giving back to the community.

LPA Trunk or Treat!

October 20, 2023 By Sharon Machrone

The Link Parent Association’s Trunk or Treat event on October 27th was a great success!  Children and their families came– in great costumes – had a wonderful time going from car trunk to car trunk to select candy and other treats. There was so much excitement in the air!

October 16, 2023 By Sharon Machrone

We are proud of the students, staff, and families who walked in Newark's breast cancer awareness month walk on Sunday, October 15th. A wonderful way to show of support for those who have or have survived breast cancer. Thanks for representing the school and walking for this worthy cause.

Thanks to the students and staff who dressed in PINK on Friday in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and made donations toward breast cancer research!  A great way to “give back” to others! Here are some of our Linkers – students and staff – at the Pennsylvania Avenue location decked out in PINK!

Lower House students go apple-picking!

October 14, 2023 By Sharon Machrone

Lower House (K-2) enjoyed a bright and beautiful day at Alstede’s Farm in Chester, NJ, where they picked apples to bring home. They drank fresh apple cider, meandered through the evergreen maze, saw some farm animals, and climbed a high pile of hay bales! Additionally, an employee for Alstedes spoke with students about seasonal vegetables.  We are happy that our 5th and 6th graders will have the chance to go to Alstede’s later this month!

Celebrating our amazing custodians!

October 14, 2023 By Sharon Machrone

Mr. Lui Pacheco and Mr. Vidal Carrasco, Link's school maintenance staff, were celebrated last week on National Custodian's Day. In a gathering in the gym, students and staff expressed their appreciation to our custodians for keeping our buildings clean, operational, and well-maintained, contributing to a positive work and learning environment.
