While in college, she served Jumpstart at McKinley Elementary School. After being accepted into the art education program at MSU, she completed clinicals and student teaching at Kearny Public Schools. In high school in Glen Rock, NJ, Rachel took pre-college classes in art at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Interior Design at Drexel University, and earned college credits at Pratt Institute. She plans to further her education in art through online courses at The Art of Education University.
Rachel is excited to become part of the Link Team and has many fun and creative art projects planned for Link students. They will learn various artistic techniques, art vocabulary, problem-solving skills, and more! Rachel will utilize an interdisciplinary approach to promote learning in the art room and have students create meaningful connections throughout their core subjects. Students will use a wide range of artistic mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, tempera paint, oil & chalk pastels, crayons, 3D mediums, and other exciting materials. Inspired by science, Rachel often compares the scientific method to the artistic process, where divergent thinking skills are used to form varieties of hypotheses. She is grateful to be able to implement her evolving, multifaceted teaching philosophies to discover the endless possibilities that are fueled by creativity! She loves learning from her students and their masterpieces!
