As he has in the past several years, Malakai Freeman, Link Class of 2004, donated a brand new laptop to a graduating 8th grade student this June. Initiating this annual alumni award is Malakai’s way of “paying forward” a kindness shown him by a former Link teacher, who presented him with a laptop for high school – Delbarton – when she knew he could not afford one. The teacher encouraged Malaki to do the same for a Link graduate in the future…once he was settled in a career. He didn’t stop at just one; he has donated a computer to a deserving graduate for the past 4 years! Additionally, this year, his employer passed along five lightly used and reconditioned laptops for more of Link’s recent graduates. Thank you Malakai, for giving back to your community!
