Share your Link Memories

Link is celebrating its 50th anniversary this fall and 50th graduating class in 2020!  Share a photo from your time at Link with a corresponding memory with us via email to linkalumni@linkschool.org with the subject line “Link Memory.”  No photo? No problem. Email us your memory and we’ll do our best to match a photo!

*Publication and Authenticity Agreement - By emailing Link your photo and memory with us, you agree to give Link Community Charter School and Link Education Partners permission to publish the image and information on their websites and communications channels. You also acknowledge that the information may be edited for style guidelines and space limitations. Any information containing news about people other than the sender of the note will be verified with that third party for both accuracy and publication consent.

Volunteer

We have a number of one-time and long-time projects you can volunteer for at Link.  It’s a great way to also get your company, Greek organization or house of workshop involved in a great cause in Newark, NJ!  Please reach out to linkalumni@linkschool.org so we can connect you with a project at Link.

Young alumni (those in high school and college) looking to give back and document community service hours must reach out to linkalumni@linkschool.org to schedule their hours.  We ask for at least two weekdays’ notice.  A confirmation email will be sent to you once hours are scheduled.

Be a Morning Circle Guest Speaker

Kick off your morning at Link!  Do you remember a time when a guest speaker spoke to your class in morning circle and inspired you?  Perhaps the speaker even inspired where you enrolled in school or the career you have pursued.  Our current scholars love this continued tradition and who better to inspire them than a former Link alumnus!  You may present about your educational path, career, a hobby or a cause you are passionate about.  Email linkalumni@linkschool.org with “Morning Speaker” in the subject line to schedule a date and topic to present to the Lower House (5th and 6th grades) or Upper House (7th and 8th grades).

Teach an Elective Class

“You cannot be what you cannot see.” -Marian Wright Edelman

Link believes that exposure to eye opening experiences that develop content knowledge, skills and new interests is critical to spark interest and inspire our scholars to be all that they can be.  Do you have a skill or hobby that you would like to expose current Linkers too?  Can you commit to come to Link for one hour on Friday mornings for 8 to 10 weeks?  If so, apply to teach an elective class today!

Link’s electives program consists of weekly co-curricular classes on Friday mornings.  Classes are taught to a mixed grade group of eight to 12 students in 7th and 8th grades.  Past course topics have included but are not limited to play production, African dance, girls music group, mosaic glass art, boatbuilding, 3D printing, food and culture, entrepreneurship, fashion design, photography, financial investing and more!

Email linkalumni@linkschool.org with “Elective Class” in the subject line, and include in the email your topic and why you would love to teach it as an electives instructor at Link!  A member of our team will be in touch to discuss the possible class.

Donate to Link

You can make a difference for current Linkers. There is power in numbers and no donation is too small.  Give what you can to make an investment in the future of Link and the future of our current Linkers. Click here to make a gift today!

As a public charter school, why does Link need private donations?  Click here to learn why.
