Director of Communications
Sharon Machrone joined Link in 2004 as Development Assistant, then Development Associate and in January, 2008 moved into the position of Director of Communications in Link’s Office of Institutional Advancement. In her current role, Sharon is responsible for the School’s website, press releases and advertising, and print materials including the donor newsletter and the Annual Report. She also manages partnerships with organizations and individuals offering opportunities to Link students — opportunities which broaden students’ horizons and enrich their lives. Additionally, Sharon supports the fundraising efforts of the Institutional Advancement department, in particular the annual gala event, A Taste of Newark. Sharon came to Link with experience in fundraising, program/project/event management and public relations/publicity in non-profit organizations as well as a twenty-year career in human resources management. She holds a B.A. in political science from Drew University. Outside of Link, she still continues in various volunteer roles in Scotch Plains, New Jersey where she and husband Bill Machrone reside.
