Sahirah Johnson is a professional actor, singer, and writer. Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, she graduated from Newark's Arts High School and continued her education at Howard University as a Music Education major. She further earned her bachelor's degree in Theater from Kean University and her Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Sahirah is a current union member of The Actors Equity Association and has been training and sharing her craft with children throughout her professional Arts career. While on The National Tour of the musical "Rent," she taught classes in acting and singing to children of all ages. She taught Master Classes to students in Alaska, Detroit, Washington DC, and Canada.  Teaching credits include being the Founding Drama teacher at Newark Collegiate Academy, Musical Theatre teacher at Playwright’s Theatre of New Jersey and Lead Arts teacher for Newark Symphony Hall Summer Arts Program.
Sahirah joined Link in 2008 as a performing arts teacher. In 2023 she also was named the Arts Department Coordinator.
Sahirah has a passionate commitment to student and community development, and she has a strong dedication to sharing her professional experiences with her students. On many days, she has been heard saying to her scholars, "If I can do it, so can you!"
