The Board of Trustees of Link Education Partners is pleased to announce that they will be honoring Link Community Charter School’s long term partner, Project U.S.E. at the upcoming A Taste of Newark to be held on Wednesday, November 18 at NJPAC.
For 45 years, Project U.S.E. has worked with Link to ensure that students have outdoor/adventure education and other experiential programs to expand their horizons and help them to develop positive personal characteristics such as the ability to work with a team, leadership, self reliance and confidence.
Some of the wonderful programs that Project U.S.E. has introduced to Linkers are day trips – hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, high ropes courses and other challenges – in the woods of northeastern New Jersey; overnight camping trips at Wildcat Mountain; expeditions to South Dakota to visit the Lakota Native Americans and to New England for summer time camping; and classes in gardening, boat building and survival skills. Additionally, Project U.S.E. leads Link’s annual faculty and staff retreat, helping that group to bond and develop a sense of Link’s mission.
