Narrowing the Achievement Gap

After four years in our program, the achievement gap in English Language Arts (ELA) for the Class of 2019 closed. Students outperformed the state average on the PARCC assessment in both 7th and 8th grade ELA.

Link students outperformed students in the school’s sending districts (Newark, Irvington, East Orange, and Orange) on the NJASK Science assessment for three years, 2015 through 2017.

The NJ Department of Education transitioned from NJASK Science to the New Jersey State Learning Assessment (NJSLA) - Science in the spring of 2018. Link administered the science assessment in grades 5 and 8 in the springs of 2018 and 2019, however the state has not yet released the results of the assessments for either year to schools or to the public.

Closing the Opportunity Gap

Link works hard to place students in competitive high schools, and Link students have earned an incredible amount in academic scholarships and financial aid to make their enrollment in these schools possible.
