The Link Community Charter School Board of Trustees is proud to share that the NJ Department of Education has approved the school’s application for charter renewal for the next five years and for phased in growth over the next four years. The renewal process included a comprehensive review of academic performance, fiscal viability, and operational stability. In her letter communicating the renewal, NJDOE Commissioner Kimberly Harrington pointed to strong improvement in Link’s first years and the expectation of continued positive growth based on the most recent indicators. She wrote, “Please accept my best wishes as you continue to serve the students of New Jersey and provide a quality public school option for families.” The NJDOE will send a full report of their findings and recommendations to school leadership soon. The NJDOE also approved Link’s request to add 32 seats (8 per grade level) to be filled over the next four years, beginning with grade 5 in the fall of 2018. Reacting to the NJDOE decision to renew Link’s charter and approve expansion, Head of School Maria Pilar Paradiso stated, “We look forward to working hard over the coming years to continue to deliver the mission to our Link scholars and to achieve positive student outcomes.”
