Thanks to PlaySmart, Inc., a group of 20 Link students spent a great day on the Princeton University campus last week. During a tour of the campus, our students met and spoke with a number of Princeton students, learning about life on a college campus. After a hearty lunch in Princeton’s Frist Campus Center, Linkers took to the stadium bleachers to watch a football game between Princeton and its long-time rival, Harvard University. Princeton won this homecoming game, in a stunning “come from behind”, 39-34!
Students and their chaperones, Mrs. Searcy and Mr. Hill, are grateful to Mrs. Lisa Surace, a Princeton alumna and member of PlaySmart’s board and Mr. Mike Trepper, executive director of PlaySmart for this wonderful eye-opening opportunity to experience a college campus for a day. PlaySmart is a community-based activist charity committed to helping under-served kids in inner-cities and rural areas across the United States to reach their academic potential through sports and has partnered with Link for over ten years.
