The Founders Board of Link Community Charter School submitted Phase One of the NJ Charter School Application to the NJ Department of Education on October 15, 2013. Once the DOE deems Link Community Charter School a qualified applicant, the founders will submit Phase Two of the Application on December 6, 2013. The final granting of charter would occur in the summer of 2014.
As announced in late February, 2013, Link Community School’s Board of Trustees, building on a 43 year legacy, took some bold steps to ensure strong future impact for students by: (1) removing tuition as a barrier to family’s access to a quality education, (2) planning for the growth of the school to include 5th and 6th grades, and (3) applying to convert to a charter school bringing together public and private resources to deliver an even stronger Link program and serve students more deeply.
If approved, in the 2014-2015 school year, LCCS will serve the community with a 5th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade. The 6th grade will be added in 2015. The School will keep the community apprised of each step in the process.
