On February 1st, students of all grade levels attended a special virtual Morning Circle to begin Black History Month (BHM). During the circle students learned the history of the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing, and watched a video of it being sung by the HBCU Concert Choir, consisting of members from various Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) institutions. Scholars also learned about the history of BHM and listened to a famous poem by Maya Angelou, titled “Still I Rise." This was a very moving start to the month for our students. Here is the program, prepared by Ms. Covington, Link's vice-principal.
