Before joining the team at Link Community Charter School, Dan Whalen worked for seven years as a social worker for Project Hospitality, a non-profit social services organization in Staten Island. Born in Washington, DC and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, he also spends time as a musician and composer, working primarily out of Brooklyn.
