Acting Dean of Students
Da’Cheray is a Newark Native who graduated from Link Community School in 2005. She has spent many years giving back to my community through various organizations and experiences. After Link, Da’Cheray attended Science Park High School and graduated from Bloomfield College with a Dual Degree in Secondary Education and English Literature. she also holds a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership in Supervision & Counseling. Currently, she is entering her 5th year of teaching, having taught in Paterson as well as in Newark. She is also a proud member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Incorporated, a professional organization for women Educators. Da’Cherary came to Link as a 6th grade ELA teacher, and was promoted to assistane dean with resposibioitiy for the Lower House in 2019 and to acting dean of students in 2021.
Outside of school, Da’Cheray coach high school volleyball. She is the Founder and CEO of Young Queens: D.I.A.M.O.N.D.S., Inc., a non profit organization based in Newark geared toward the development of Young Women in the urban community. This organization focuses on mentorship, community service, academic excellence, and dance. She organizes and executes various community service projects for her mentees. The organization has fed over 600 families over the course of 4 years.
After her first year of teaching and serving as Assistant Dean of Students at Link, Da’Cherary moves to the full time position of Assistant Dean.
