A huge “thank you” to Link Education Partners as well as the sponsors, restaurants, advertisers, auction donors, volunteers and guests who contributed to the success of our 18th Annual A Taste of Newark last Wednesday evening. What a terrific array of food from 18 restaurants and caterers – something to please every palate! The student performances – “Revolting Children” and “Lean on Me” were amazing. A group of students reflected on the experiences and opportunities they have had at Link – performing arts, outdoor adventure education, elective classes, athletics and more. This was both enlightening and inspirational. Three former principals of the school – Sister Alice (Project Link,) Jamie Verilli (Link Community School) and Maria Pilar Paradiso (Link Community Charter School) reflected on the school’s long time partnership with this year’s honoree – Project U.S.E. After a brief video of Project U.S.E.’s Executive Director Mike Bagley, Bob Goger accepted the honor for that organization. Victoria Araromi ’04 spoke movingly about the impact – especially Link’s Core Values – the school has had on her life. The proceeds from this event will help fund student programming not covered by public funding. Click here for photos from the event.
