Class Notes-Alum in the World

Class of 2009

Anthony Hyatt
Anthony is at St. Peter’s Prep and is the new Tri-County Champion for the 55 meter hurdles. Anthony is also plays on the football team.

Taylor Holliman
Taylor enrolled at The Hudson School in Jersey City won a Japanese poetry contest. She wrote an original poem in Japanese which she recited at a Japanese festival.

+Recently many members of the Link Class of ’09 returned for a visit, among them: Imani Powell, Jamee Adams, Yasmine Perry, Jed-Joan Edziah, Maliks Leary, Taylor Jones, Tyshon Garret, Danille King. Rashad Butler-Wilkerson, Elijada Warner.

Class of 2008

+Kenya Edwards, a rising junior at Lacordaire Academy, returned to Link to participate in the school’s second annual musical. Kenya performed in the African Dance numbers in Once on This Island with Link’s cast members.

+Bithja St. Louis was elected vice president of the sophomore class at Newark Vocational HS. She was also inducted into the National Honor Society.

+Justin Haynes, a sophomore at Pingry, recently visited Link with about 30 others from Pingry to perform commuity service.

+Brandi Smalls attends Burlington County Institute of Technology, majoring in fashion. Last year she made the the Principals’ Honor Roll and won 1st Place in a fashion contest. Brandi is a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and plays on the school soccer team. In the summer of 2010 she will be traveling throughout Europe through the People-to-People program.

Class of 2007

+Shatanya Schenck was inducted into the National Honor Society. She attends St. Vincent Academy.
Class of 2006

+Alyssa Louis was inducted into the National Honor Society at Westside High School. She performed in the Newark Public School Jazz Festival this year. She will attend Hampton University in the fall of 2010.

Class of 2005

+ Read about the wonderful dinner party at Link celebrating the graduation of the Link Class of 2005.

+ Devin Alexander graduated from Arts High this past June. View some of the art from her portfolio.

Class of 2004

+ Victoria Araromi completed her freshman year at Stanford U. in California and absolutely enjoyed it. She taught study skills at Link’s Summer Academy this summer and will be returning to Stanford shortly.

Class of 2003

+ Chanel Morrison is working at NJIT in the Upward Bound Program.

Class of 2001

+ Yetunde “Esther” Araromi is currently teaching at the Paul Robeson Charter School for the Humanities in Trenton, NJ. She graduated from the The College of New Jersey with a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Education.

Class of 1989

+Nikki Greene graduated from the University of Delaware with a PhD. in Art History. She is currently a lecturer at Rutgers University in Camden, NJ.
