7th grade students participated in “The Debate of 1860.” Yes…1860. Thanks to Ms. Charles, their history teacher, student presented the platforms of the four presidential contenders – Abraham Lincoln, Steven Douglas, John Bell and John Breckenridge – in an assembly this week. Supporters had the opportunity to express their opinions about the candidates and raise placards they made to support their candidates. Definitely a fun way to learn about our nation’s past!
